We collect information necessary to provide and improve the SgStudyPal service, including user profile details (name, grade level), usage data, and chat transcripts for quality assurance. We operate in compliance with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) of Singapore.

2. Children's Data

SgStudyPal is designed for primary school students aged 9-12. All accounts must be created by a parent or legal guardian. We collect only the minimum data necessary to provide our educational services: name, email, grade level, and learning activity. We do not serve advertising or share children's data with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. How We Use Your Information

Your data is used to personalize your AI tutor experiences, track academic progression, and improve the underlying AI models. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Data Security

We implement robust security measures, including encryption in transit and at rest, to protect your data. Authentication is securely managed.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal data and learning activity for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, all personal data is removed within 30 days.

6. Data Location

Your data is processed and stored using Google Firebase (United States) and Google Gemini AI (United States). Uploaded homework images are processed in real-time and are not permanently stored after analysis.

7. Third-Party Processors

We use the following third-party services to operate SgStudyPal:

  • Google Firebase (authentication, database, file storage)
  • Google Gemini AI (homework help, quiz generation, voice tutor)
  • Vercel (web hosting and edge delivery)
  • Stripe (payment processing — coming soon)

These services process data in accordance with their own privacy policies.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to request access to or deletion of your personal data. You are also able to request modifications to inaccurate data through your profile settings.

9. Right to Deletion

You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting privacy@sgstudypal.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
